My journey to good health has not been an easy road. In my mid-teens, I started suffering from endless bouts of stomach and digestive issues. After seeing a large array of doctors, the common diagnosis was “irritable bowel syndrome” and the solution was said to be daily medication.
Not wanting to simply treat my symptoms with prescriptions, I decided to take matters into my own hands and find the root cause of my troubles. I tried eliminating various foods in an attempt to feel better, but unfortunately nothing seemed to work. I wrote a food diary but could see no correlation in terms of what was causing the problems.
I was getting more and more frustrated and felt as though I was destined to struggle with these issues for the rest of my life. That was until I stumbled upon research about the efficacy of the low FODMAP diet. Within a few weeks of starting the diet, my symptoms had almost disappeared and now, after three years of managing my FODMAP intake, I feel better than ever.
My goal is to help others find the same relief that I did and start enjoying food (and life) again. I hope this blog and my recipes can inspire you to get healthy, end your digestive troubles and to know that in doing so, you do not have to live in a world of bland, boring or processed food.
